I know there is a pair of these sans footstools on another site for $9800 and
that they are attributed to Parzinger. The woodwork on the legs is extraordinary. Channeled on the front and unusually curved. Yet there are other postings which point to the work of Ernst Schwadron. Schwadron was from Austria and Parzinger was from
Germany. Parzinger had the help of his partner Don Cameron. So this is a Modern furniture mystery.
The chair construction I found fascinating. No staples just tacks. The fabric was sewn together while on the chairs. Coiled springs no straps. Lots of tyes criss-crossing the coiled springs. Old school personified. I kept photos of what it looked like prior to the reupholstering.
I decided to work with faux fur and I used to different forms. One that looks like
cropped sheeps wool. The other is biscuited looking like little loaves of bread. The biscuited portion is softer than the traditional faux sheeps wool. The footstools are
extremely elegant and once again display a curved form. Embrace the curve!
