Elegant "Mermaid" Swedish Art Deco Art Glass Vase by famed Swedish glass artist Nils Landberg (1907 - 1981) for Orrefors … Read more Elegant "Mermaid" Swedish Art Deco Art Glass Vase by famed Swedish glass artist Nils Landberg (1907 - 1981) for Orrefors Glassworks.  This heavy hand blown vase faceted beauty feathers a frosted etched/copper engraved stylized nude mermaid.  Light smoky brown hued crystal.  This is a fine early example of Landberg's early days as an engraver, then designer for Orrefors. He then went on to become one of Orrefor’s most celebrated glass artists and created some of the most noted modernist art glass designers of the mid-20th century.  His work is coveted by private collectors and featured in museums around the world.  

Signed/Marked: "Orrefors, Landsberg 1438, A.4 W, which indicates was designed in 1938 by Landsberg, but this particular piece was crafted in 1944. See less
