Maenads, Bacchante female figure playing a flute. Designed upon the Greek image of the bacchante of Bachus. Wine and festival imagery. The bronze is 17th-century Italian from Rome and typical of the body type and elongated fingers and toes of that period. The size of this figure is 13" tall on the marble and 9.5 by itself. The marble is 2.5" by 2.5" .
Beautiful dark bronze patina.
