This large 19th century Chinese armoire was made of elmwood with metal hardware. This armoire is rectangular shape, has a carved apron and sits on four straight legs. The doors open via a traditional Chinese metal lockset with three petal handles, all sitting on a round metal medallion. The light, varnished elmwood from which this armoire is made is enhanced by the contrasting hardware medallion, both in shape and color. Inside are two shelves and two hidden drawers. This large 19th century Chinese elmwood armoire with metal medallion hardware would be an elegant item in most homes, perhaps in a den where its sobriety would make it perfect to store documents and books.
