This rectangular chest displays red lacquered wood for its outside with brass hardware details reinforcing the corners. Finely carved foliage patterns adorn the brass plate on the front centre, upon which the brass lockset and handle sit. Inside, the lid is painted in black while the lower section displays the natural wood grain. The bottom is reinforced with a plank.
