This lamp displays a globular shape that is often used in Chinese porcelain art. The body is covered by colorful foliages and flowers on a golden background. Some small medallions showcase flowers and insects which have been painted with a great precision. One side of the belly is adorned by a chinoiserie scene depicting scholars and courtiers welcoming a warrior, perhaps in the palace. The other side features a composition of flowers and birds.
