An exquisite rare photogravure of Long-Sleeved Silk Brocade Kaftan of Sultan Murad IV (1623-1640). Design of couble cloud band and three circles enclosing tangential smaller circles in gold edged with blue moire placed on red background. Ottoman, second quarter of the 17th century. Length, 60.25". Topkapu Palace Museum, Istanbul.
The photogravure comes from a rare art folio published in Switzerland in the 1940s. Gold foil overlay. Printed on one side. Hand tipped-in on a sheet of heavy paper. Numbered at the lower right corner: 7. Excellent condition - never used.
