The sofa has a wide rectangular … Read more A stunning 19th century sofa or bench settee in a distressed grey painted finish. The sofa has a wide rectangular padded back with open padded arms and a generous rectangular padded seat. This model is unusual in its size and elaborate use of stretchers uniting the base. The frame is raised on eight turned feet. The sofa has been fully restored, stripped back to the original solid pegged frame, padding, hessian lining, and calico coverings added to the front, back and arms. Ready for re-upholstery or to be left in its current clothes if preferred. Italian, circa 1850.
