Beautiful little jug was made in the Hamptons in the mid '70's. It is signed "Lyn Johnson".
It is very strong and chip proof, not soft ceramic. It has a grainy, almost sandy surface and the pink to blue glazes remind me of one of our sun sets. Its proportions are perfect. The interior turquoise glaze is perfectly executed, covering the whole of the interior.
It speaks of a very positive, happy time here, when everything was possible.

In the Mid '70's, several kilns were being operated here in the Hamptons.. One working kiln with public access is still available in Water Mill, NY. There were also private kilns in use at that time. So this piece is a very good example of that era. There are no issues to report. less
