Title: 1960s Vintage Kostka Table Lamps, De Stijl Movement - Set of 3
About this item: Offered are three sculptural table lamps, manufactured by Kostka, France, are attributed to the early 20th century designs of German architect and painter Walter Georg Kostka (1884-1970). Influenced by the aesthetic of the De Stijl movement, the form of the lamps are radically reduced to straight lines and perfect circles. Later mid century design influence can also be seen in the work of the master of post war Dutch lighting JJM Hoogervorst (1918-1982). Produced towards the end of Kostka and Hoogervorst’s careers in the 1960s, this lamp set exemplifies Dutch pure minimalism.
Description: Produced entirely in metal with a bronze powder coat finish, the parasol hoods with spherical finials house single bulb (25W maximum) holders above stepped cylindrical columns, finished with brushed brass bases, wired with Leviton inline rotary on-off switches. Kostka, France mark concealed underneath stepped lower area of columns.
