Offered is a vintage Zeuthen Keramik butter bowl made at the workshop in Denmark, and marked on the bottom in blue
The plate measures 6.325" in diameter, 2.5" in height overall, and the butter bowl measures 3.5" in diameter, 1.5" in height.
Founded originally by Normann Zeuthen in 1946 in Gentofte, Denmark, the pottery workshop employed around 10 to 15 people at its peak, including some of the known ceramists Ady Kroyer, Birte Vedel Howard, who both went on to have successful careers, as well as Edith Nielsen, the primary designer of the distinctive style of matte red clay decorated with motifs of flowers, stars, dots, etc. in white raised glaze or slip-trailed glaze.
Note: This butter dish does not have a lid, and the butter knife is just a prop, not included.
