A study in grace and subtle sensuality, this evocative 1934 black pencil and charcoal drawing by French artist Marie Louise Simard (1886–1963) showcases a nude female figure with sculptural beauty and poise. Standing in a languid pose, gently leaning against a table, the model's voluptuous silhouette reflects the celebrated Art Deco aesthetic—confident, romantic, and timeless.
Her mastery of anatomy and shadow elevates Simard's minimalist draftsmanship. Soft contours and dramatic highlights emphasize the natural elegance of the female form with striking simplicity. Her signature appears in the lower left corner alongside her distinctive "MS" stamp, affirming authenticity and period provenance.
Expertly presented in a natural wood frame, the artwork is further enhanced by a clean, white matte finish and protective glass, offering modern clarity while preserving its vintage allure.
This work is ideal for collectors seeking an intimate yet sophisticated piece of early 20th-century figure study, beautifully capturing the spirit of its era.
