The two rare paintings feature a geometric study of stylized kitchenware accessories, including a soup tureen and coffee grinder, in various colors. The compositions feature hypnotic repetitions of stylized geometric shapes, rendered in shifting gradients of color that evoke a sense of movement and mechanical harmony. These two drawings were purchased in France in 2005 at a private estate sale as part of an important portfolio of sketches, all created on tracing paper with black pencils and some with colored pencils. The portfolio was dated from 1963 to 1968.
