The all-over Herati pattern is among the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. It is enclosed with a turtle vine scroll border flanked with triple inner and outer meander guard bands.
