There are paintings an artist creates... and then there are paintings that quietly become part of the family's story.
This painting has always been one of my mother's favorites, which is why I affectionately call it "Mom's Favorite." Every time she looks at it, she finds something new in the movement of the flowers, the richness of the colors, and the peaceful energy it brings to a room.
My paintings are never planned in detail. I begin with an idea, but I allow the work to evolve naturally as I paint. Rather than forcing an outcome, I listen to what the painting seems to ask of me. Over the years I have come to feel that I serve more as a channel than a controller, allowing color, form, and emotion to unfold freely on the canvas.
The vibrant palette in this painting reminds me of my grandfather, whose extraordinary sense of color has undoubtedly influenced my own artistic journey. The floral forms are expressive rather than literal, creating movement and depth while inviting each viewer to interpret the painting in a personal way.
Years ago, while I owned an art gallery, a woman walked in and immediately connected with a similar floral painting. She told me her spiritual teacher had described the exact colors and flowing forms she needed in her home. Unable to purchase it immediately, she returned faithfully every week, making small payments until it was hers. After she finally took the painting home, I never saw her again—but I have never forgotten how deeply art can resonate with someone's life. Experiences like that continue to inspire me as an artist.
This original oil painting has been exhibited over the years and carefully transported between several locations. It remains in excellent condition.
I personally stretched the canvas and prepared the support before creating the painting in professional oil paints. Every stage of the process was completed by hand in my studio.
Although I photograph my artwork in natural daylight, photographs can never fully capture the richness, depth, and luminosity of the original oils. The colors shift beautifully throughout the day as the surrounding light changes, giving the painting an ever-changing presence. Displayed with thoughtful lighting, the painting truly comes alive.
Whether displayed in a contemporary home, a traditional interior, a professional office, or a hospitality setting, this expressive floral composition brings warmth, serenity, movement, and timeless elegance to its surroundings. While it can certainly be framed, I have always felt the painting possesses enough strength and character to stand beautifully on its own.

Just as you see it in the photos. please enlarge to see details. This painting has been exhibited, moved a few times to various locations, and it is in excellent condition. I stretched my own linen or canvas on the stretcher bars and built the base. The painting is done in oils and it is on Canvas. Although I have taken photographs during the day, having the colors come true as they are, is impossible. In reality, they are much more vibrant. It is like they have their own life since the shapes and color combination create so much movement. The color combination is very peaceful and serene and has a calm yet energetic effect on the viewer. All my paintings change very much by the surrounding light and objects. It would look great with an accent light above or below the painting. An appropriate frame would look great. Wonderful for any residential and commercial environment. less
