The value of this product lies above all in the material used and in its history: The wood used for the construction of the object was obtained from the paulownia tree planted by the modernist architect Le Corbusier in his Villa Le Lac. After discovering that the tree Le Corbusier was so fond of was suffering from an incurable disease and needed to be removed, Cassina helped cut down the tree and moved it to his carpentry workshop in Meda.
The Spanish designer Jaime Hayón thus transformed the tree into an exclusive and limited collection of wooden objects for Cassina, launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of the modernist architect.

The paulownia tree found in the terrace garden of Le Corbusier's Villa Le Lac in 1924, on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, was famous to all the modernist architect's acquaintances as he himself defined it as "The Magic Tree ".
