When I found this photograph in the back of an antique shop, I was very excited. This is one of those things you would never in a million years expect to find. Photograph is signed by Alan Degen, Wolfgang Salb, and Neil Rettig in pen below the image on the mount. The 3 gentlemen began in the early 1970s documenting the Harpy Eagles in Panama as well as other Birds of Prey around the globe. Rettig has gone on to be one of the most prominent Nature Cinematographers in the world with his photographs an footage being used by National Geographic and many other documentaries. He has won 6 Emmys for his work.This is a wonderful scarce original Gelatin Silver photograph of the Harpy Eagle mother and her eaglet in the nest. Large photograph measuring 13 1/2 x 9 inches on original mount measuring 20 x 16 inches. Photograph is good and clear with just some faint spotting in the very top on the surface. Otherwise outstanding. Backstamp on the back of the mount has the 3 men's name as well as being dated 1975. A very scarce original photograph. None other's anywhere on the market nor, in the historic records. See less
