ORIGINAL 2001 KEN EBERTS A.F.A.S. (b 1943) 'OLDSMOBILE CONVERTIBLES AND OTHER CARS INCLUDING A WOODY WAGON AT AN OLD SERVICE CENTER' GOUACHE PAINTING
This is just a great original piece. I was lucky enough to acquire an incredible collection of original Ken Eberts automobile painting. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. Eberts is one of the most important automobile artists in the 20th and 21st Century. His works are incredible. I believe this work comes from the estate of Charles Cawley. Cawley was a founder of MBNA bank and became a huge philanthropist. FIRST OFF, THIS IS A HUGE PIECE! This is a stunning view of a bunch of Oldsmobiles including convertibles and even a woody wagon. A wonderful gouache on illustration measuring 30 x 40 inches. Signed lower right. Painting is in outstanding as created condition. Triple archival matted with original painted wood frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 44 1/2 x 54 1/2 inches. If you are an Oldsmobile collector or dealer this is a must have for you! Do your own research on these paintings. His works are scarce and when they do come to market they are usually priced at multiple times what I am asking. Because of the size of this painting I am unable to ship it. I am happy to work with you for pickup but please inquire before bidding. I travel between Maine and New Jersey periodically so there are some possibilities for dropoff. If you have your own way to transport it, I am happy to work with you to help in that process.
For those not familiar with the artist his biography from a gallery that sells the artist's work reads:" A founder of the Automotive Fine Arts Society, Ken Eberts has been its President for the last 36 years. His automotive fine art paintings and prints are in collections worldwide. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design, he began his professional career as a designer for Ford Motor Company in 1965. To date he has created and sold over 1300 paintings and hundreds of thousands of prints of his artwork. In 2003 he was named Ford Motor Company's Centennial Artist, following Norman Rockwell in 1953."
