Jean Gerbino's ceramic chevrette or gargoulette is an exceptional piece, very rare to find and in perfect condition. This artist, born in 1876 and died in 1966, began his career in Italy before joining the workshop of Delphin Massier. In 1930, he founded his own workshop in Vallauris, where he developed an innovative ceramic mosaic technique, which distinguished him among his contemporaries such as Roger Capron and Pablo Picasso. Gerbino was able to establish himself in the artistic community of the Côte d'Azur, surrounded by influential figures such as Jean Cocteau and Jean Lurçat. This work testifies to his unique know-how and the creative spirit which marked the ceramic art of the region. To own a piece made by Gerbino is to own a segment of the artistic history of the 20th century. This piece has an attribution mark,
