In 2006, Highland House Furniture Co. hired Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's personal Butler, to design a limited line of fine English Country Furniture. Paul designed this beautiful, oversized,, paint decorated, green velvet tufted armchair with gilded X's & O's on the splat. Diana had a fondness for Paul's young son & used to say "he's my little man and needs lots of kisses and hugs" so the X's and O's represent kisses & hugs. The finish is shades of warm beige antiqued painted finish. This Louis XVI Style armchair is very gently used & in beautiful condition. The handmade needle point pillow of King Charles Spaniels is from a Philadelphia Estate & is a perfect addition to Princess Diana's English County Chair. A classic rooted in tradition. No longer in production.
Manufacturer's label is on the underside and hand signed in marker by Paul Burell to the seat rail.
Highland House is a division of Century Furniture of Hickory North Carolina & 60 pieces were included in 'The English Country House' line. It is no longer in production.
