These two chairs are in marvelous condition, with genuine leather, metal rivets and beautifully detailed carved wood.

The Savonarola chair, also referred to as the 'x' chair due to its unique curved frame and cross at the central joint, gained popularity in sixteenth-century France after Charles VIII encountered them in Florence. This chair style experienced a revival in the 19th century, particularly in France and Italy, as part of the resurgence of Medieval and Renaissance styles. Our chairs, originating from Italy, are crafted from dark walnut and feature intricate crests. The seat and back are upholstered in a rich brown leather, showcasing a beautiful patina. These chairs, in addition to their historical significance, are in excellent condition and offer a comfortable seating experience.
