Myanmar (Burma), Shan, 18th century. Although it has several cracks, the aesthetic integrity of the piece is almost perfect. These are cracks or crazing, but not re-sticking. The nape of the neck shows a significant crack, but this does not continue onto the neck. There is no play in any part of the piece, and when the adorer is held in the hand, the "hold" is totally firm and solid. Provenance: Estate of art dealer and collector Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance. H 45 cm diameter 28 CM See less
