It is known to be the marketing “ genius” of Charles Noke who joined Doulton is 1889. Being one of the most identifiable series, it is based on Chares Dickens’ characters. Depicted here is Cap’n Cuttle from Dickens’ Dombey and Son. It is beautifully painted with hues of oranges, yellows and greens that contrast nicely with black. See less
