Rare goldscheider art deco ceramic figure of the 1920's: posing, graceful dancer in oriental costume: short-sleeved, belly-free top, floor-length, wide skirt and headscarf playing around the expressively painted face, all pieces of clothing with the same decoration - large, stylised flowers in shades of red, pink and green - the upper body slightly tilted backwards, barefoot, performing a dance step, the left arm stretching forwards, the right backwards and holding the skirt up in a semicircle at the hem. The figure is based on a dark green, bevelled, profiled round base. Designed by josef lorenzl (1892 - 1950), was an austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes.
