An early 19th Century French miniature portrait, oil on vellum under glass, portraying an older woman wearing a lace bonnet and a floral dress with a lace collar, reflecting the period. Illegable signature, dated 1821.
The mitered black wood frame shows a patterned gold bezel around the portrait with a hanging ring attached to the top. The verso shows metal points holding the portrait in place and a paper backing with French printing.
Frame dimensions: 4.25 in Sq. x .50 in. H
Both the painting and the frame are in the expected antique condition with signs of age and wear.
