C1994-96's; Vintage Oika Toikka for Iittala, of Finland is this mouth-blown rare coloration of amber brown Pekkasiini bird, transparent with … more C1994-96's; Vintage Oika Toikka for Iittala, of Finland is this mouth-blown rare coloration of amber brown Pekkasiini bird, transparent with multi-colored, luster spots, and clear head. This particular type of bird was only produced in limited production years, between 1994-96, and is no longer available in retail as it is discontinued from manufacturer. It has been documented. These were a series of differing birds introduced yearly; or in a yearly series, with differing voluminous bodies, multi-colored explosions of differing colorations, with the head of the bird, which is hand applied, either in a clear or different pop of color to offset the overall effect of each bird, as individual and onto themselves, much like an artist would do when numbering their series of sculptures, lithographs, prints, etc. Depending upon vantage point or placement the head or top coloration will reflect more the body or clear top head. It is signed on the underneath O. Toikka Nuutajarvi (with double dots over the last vowel "a"), as image indicates. Also right below the signature is the manufacturer's maker's mark sticker, emblazoned with an iconic "i" for Iittala, of Finland, which the sticker states, including country provenance. From the old and original production, which also can be seen and documented in the book, "BIRDS, by Toikka." Sourced form a Boca Raton, Florida Estate.
