This antique wall decoration from … Read more A French carved wood wall plaque, in flowers and bird motif, from the 19th century. This antique wall decoration from France features a rectangular-shaped molded frame, with inner surround comprised of a repeating scrolling acanthus leaf trim, about the interior which is elaborately embellished in hand-carved depiction of a bird eating berries, surrounded in a floral and foliate motif. The inner carvings have a nice bronze/red finish which adds a subtle contrast against contrasting nicely against the more muted taupe color found about the outer frame. This 19th century French bird and floral wall carved plaque, stands just shy of 2.5 feet in height, and would look quite lovely adorning the walls of a kitchen, dining, or living room. See less
