This is a Great Looking Antique Students Field Microscope. Circa Late 19th Century. The Microscope is Made out of Solid … more This is a Great Looking Antique Students Field Microscope. Circa Late 19th Century. The Microscope is Made out of Solid Brass and Cast Iron. The Original Box - Fitted Travel Case is made Out of Solid Mahogany Wood. It has No Maker or Other Markings. Note that the 2 Original with the Set Prepared Glass Slides have Hand Written French Notations and Based on my Many Years of Experience I am Confident that it Was Made in France. It still has its Original Mirrored Glass Light Reflector to Light the Glass Specimen Slides for Viewing and is Working - Functional ( 2 Original Prepared Glass Slides are Included ). The Microscope is in Very Good Cosmetic Condition and Displays Very Nicely. The Mahogany Box Has Some Age and Use Related Imperfections - Cracks Etc. but it is Still in Good Usable Condition. It would make a very interesting and unique Decorator Item.
The Microscope itself Measures Approx 9 inches Tall When Fully Extended - As Used x 3 3/4 inches Long x 2 7/8 inches Wide.
The Wood Carry Case Measures 3 1/4 inches Tall x 9 1/2 inches Long x 4 3/4 inches Wide.
