It depicts the Buddhist Goddess of ‘GUANYIN’.

We are of the OPINION however, that this is not a modern reproduction. We are of the opinion that it is a 19th Century Carved Figure made in China during Qing Dynasty.

The wood has what appears to have natural aging rather than false aging because most of the wear presents on the sides and edges of the statue.

The gilding is intact on most of the piece but again shows signs of natural aging.
The gilding finish looks aged and authentic.
This is a large lacquered gild beautifully painted wood statue of the Guanyin, seated with her legs folded and hands resting on her lap in the serene position. Her body is draped in elaborately folded robes.


Buddha Guanyin in age appropriate antique condition, has some paint, gildt loss, some small splits, chips common for statues of this age and it doesn't affect its beauty . See pictures for details as part of description. See less
