Vintage folk art or Pacific islands Trompe l’Oeil vase, candleholder or decorative object. Made from real cowrie shells wired together. Add a tall narrow glass vase inside to be watertight or use with faux greenery. You could potentially insert taper candles into the six slots as well or simply admire as is as a unique decorative object. Unique piece in beautiful pale yellows and whites, with small coral/peach color shell accents.
Measuring 10”/26.5cm at its widest and 6.75”/16cm tall. I'm guessing midcentury to late 20th Century but the piece is not marked.
