Artist Bio-
Christophe Cardot grew up in the French countryside surrounded by forests and fields of sunflowers and raspberries. During his honeymoon trip to Key West, he became fascinated with how colors were impacted by the intense light. In 2003, he arrived in the United States to pursue a full-time art career painting his landscapes and seacapes. He now paints mostly with oil paints having worked with pastels and acrylic for years. Cardot prefers to work with a limited palette of the 6 colors in the rainbow. He chooses to minimize color mixing and apply pure broken color strokes to recreate the local colors by optical vision.

Primarily self-taught, he has studied with several artists statewide and nationally. After becoming a professional artist, he won more than fifty awards during his first six years. His works can be found in collections throughout the United States and Europe. See less
