This … Read more The Chelsea table by Vittorio Introini , (circa 1950), has long been recognised as an incredible work of art. This magnificent piece was finely crafted and carved from mahogany and rosewood solids. The woods were than polished to perfection creating a very fine piano-like finish. The pyramidal dining table is an optical marvel. The use of heavy gauge steel and bolts allows for the table top to balance on a weighted triangular base. The architectural design demonstrates the illusion of a very delicate play of shapes. The table is so sturdy, the top can be folded open , to allow for wonderful width of 78.75 ". The large, extended top is also supported by four chrome slats, that effortlessly glide from a hidden under panel in the table top. Please see images. The condition is impeccable, truly a museum piece.
