His attention to consumer culture, vintage commercialism, and social commentary are apparent all the whispering blatant undertones of social examination through both participation and observation. Known for "tacky" garage sale shows and mixed tapes, Paul Horn's unconventional approach and exotic exploitation of the crumbling Gilded Age spotlights familiar, comforting vintage memorabilia and ephemera at the forefront of his assemblages. A chaos of pop sensationalism devours the viewer, poignantly regurgitating socio-economic privilege, waste, and ephemerality."
