A French tapestry from the end of the 19th century or the turn of the century, presenting an aristocratic hunting scene in a mille fleurs setting, with a nobleman and a noblewoman astride horses at left and right, respectively, a hound with its catch in its mouth in the foreground, various birds sitting on the flowers and branches, and cottages and a palatial estate in the distance. Enclosed by a pair of narrow borders with an alternating scrolling motif. Wool with silk inlay. Measures: 5’5” H x 6’8” W
Hanging: The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall. For those who prefer the use of a tapestry rod, we can add the appropriate size loops to accommodate your needs. We now have a large selection of antique tapestry rods available as well, which we can provide detail upon request.
