Vintage; C.1959-64 Mid-Century Modern, original design by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Design, is this Danish large and oversized, ovoid-shaped, unique … Read more Vintage; C.1959-64 Mid-Century Modern, original design by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Design, is this Danish large and oversized, ovoid-shaped, unique and fun, onto itself with a nod to an eye-shaped look, beyond the vibrancy, of this "Festival," cheese board and cracker party server tray, or appetizer tray. It has been lacquered in a hi-gloss, day-glo orange coloration, shaped with a coved interior, and a teak wood island center, cheese board, on a raised, circular shaped platform, offsetting the style, and simple elegance, yet casual vibe and feel. This particular tray is highly rare as the period of manufacture was limited to these years, between, C.1959-64, after which production of it ceased. Maker's mark on the reverse underside, center, states Dansk Designs Denmark, with the designer's initials IHQ, and the copyright symbol below that, and above all is the Dansk logo In great condition with 2 small knife markings and a scrape mark or two, but maintained pretty well for the era, due to normal use and wear. A vibrant piece for any social gathering, party or for daily use. This is easy to handle as the curvature shape of the serving tray is highly utilitarian, unique and not cumbersome, but enhanced by this shape. Sourced from a Palm Beach Island, Florida Estate.
