This extraordinary suspension lamp was originally designed by renowned Swedish architect Erik Gunnar Asplund in the 1920s and later manufactured by Ateljé Lyktan in the 1960s. Featuring three long green-lacquered steel chains and a large opal glass shade, the lamp’s design resembles the shape of a parachute, thus its name. This lamp model is an extraordinary example of Gunnar Asplund’s work, being a delightful and, of course, very rare collector’s item from the mid-20th century. This ceiling lamp is in good original condition, with wear consistent with age and use, and is newly rewired. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
