This1960s Turkish Tulu Rug is handcrafted with Angora wool on a kilim wool foundation in the Konya region of Central Turkey. The size is 4'7" x 5'10". Tulu, which loosely translates to "Hairy", is knotted by hand using lustrous and soft Angora hair on handwoven kilims. Nomadic tribes in central Asia used Tulus as blankets to stay warm during the harsh winter weather on the high plains of the Anatolian plateau, as well as mattresses for added warmth and comfort. Today, these stunning tribal pieces with their vibrant colors and bold geometric patterns are a must-have as an accent in any modern space.
