Antique bronze zoomorphic piece designed and manufactured by Friedrich Gornik (1877-1943). The artist signature and foundry mark (AR, for Arthur Rubenstein, Vienna) are located along the base on the back side.
This piece depicts a quarete of doves perched on a hollowed log or branch. It features two large, central basins within the hollowed out "branch" that boast the individual scoops where the artist removed excess material, giving this piece a truly handmade look and appeal.
