This is an extraordinarily rare Pablo Picasso collotype with pochoir, titled "Harlequin and Boy". It is after the fantastic original Picasso drawing done in 1905, early in his career. This is NOT a modern reprint. It is a vintage collotype with pochoir from a 1946 Picasso-authorized portfolio of his most famous drawings, titled "Picasso Fifteen Drawings", published by Albert Carman from an edition of 500.
This image is EXTREMELY hard to find. Others you will find online are as much as $8500. When you look at the series of 15 drawings, you can see the entire evolution of the artist from the turn of the century, to the mid-1940s, and it is simply astounding.
This is one of Picasso's most captivating early drawings and is a precursor to his definitive cubist style for which he is often most remembered. It is signed in the lower right of the plate and dated 1905. We have custom framed it in a stunning natural dark wood frame, with acid-free matting, and UV protective conservation glass to prevent fading. It is absolutely gorgeous. A must-have for the Picasso lover. Feel free to ask me questions or send offers. I'm happy to help!
