Nicholas ridley (ca. 1500-1555): ridley was an english bishop and key figure of the reformation in england. He was martyred for his protestant faith, burned at the stake during the reign of mary i, known as bloody mary, for his adherence to the protestant faith. Hugh latimer (ca. 1487-1555): latimer was a leader of the reformation in england, known for his powerful sermons and his role as bishop of worcester. He was burned at the stake along with ridley in oxford, also becoming a martyr of the reformation. Thomas cranmer (1489-1556): cranmer was the archbishop of canterbury and a central figure in the english reformation. He was the author of the book of common prayer and was executed for heresy in the reign of mary i. Jean calvin (1509-1564): calvin was a french theologian and religious reformer whose work and doctrine, calvinism, profoundly influenced the shape of protestantism, especially in switzerland, france, holland, and later north america. John knox (ca. 1513 or 1514-1572): knox was a scottish minister and a key figure in the scottish reformation. He was the founder of the presbyterian church of scotland and played a decisive role in establishing a national protestant church.
