Sir Frank Short - Headlights Over the Hill (Seaford), Signed (1927, Mezzotint). Deep rich black mezzotint of a car headlight coming up over the hill in Seaford at night. Signed in the lower right corner. Housed under glass in a silver leaf frame with archival matte. In very good condition with wear consistent with age. Original label of Charles Sessler Gallery attached en verso. Not inspected out of frame.

Sir Frank Short was elected to the Royal Academy in 1911, the same year he was knighted, and served as the R.A.'s Treasurer from 1919-1932. He was also President of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Head of the Engraving School of the Royal College of Art, where he taught from 1891-1924.
