Large unglazed planter designed by Malcolm Leland for the Southern California company Architectural Pottery circa 1950s. The bisque finish was designed to let the water evaporate when the planter was used indoors. The Chalice form is wonderful organic modern design is spectacular in form and design. A true work of art. This is a very early marked USA before the Architectural Pottery stamp was used to mark the planters.
