This Late Period to Ptolemaic Period Egyptian carved wood ear, once part of a mummy mask, stands as a poignant testament to ancient Egyptian customs and beliefs. Dating back over 2500 years, it is a remarkable artifact that evokes a sense of reverence and respect for the deceased.
Mummies hold a special place in our understanding of ancient Egypt, representing both a physical and spiritual connection to the past. This intricately carved wood ear, now mounted on a frosted lucite stand, survived the passage of millennia, serving as a silent witness to the rituals and beliefs surrounding death and the afterlife.
Acquired from the renowned Charles Ede Gallery in London in 1985 (invoice no. 2384), this artifact not only preserves the memory of the individual it was carved for but also provides us with a tangible link to the rich cultural heritage of ancient Egypt.

The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
