The Blue Rider School, active in the early 1900s (ca 1910), included a group of avant-garde artists rebelling against traditional landscape paintings. The leaders of the movement were Wassily Kandinsky ,Franz Marc and Paul Klee. The artists wished to express the "spiritual and emotional": impact of art. They were influenced by symbolism, mysticism and a deep connection to nature. The brilliant use of color and minimalistic structure are hallmarks of this movement - once again, au currant 2020s.
