DETAILS
A vintage, Scandinavian painting of a night time scene in the Copenhagen harbor, with the city rising in the background and the lights reflecting on the water. It shows the spire of the historic Copenhagen Stock Exchange building (Copenhagen, Denmark, 1625-destroyed by fire 2024) in the background. This painting nicely evokes the soothing atmosphere of an evening strolling on the harbor.

MAKER
Gunnar Emil Weinberg (Swedish, 1876-1959). Weinberg studied at the Higher School of Art and Design in Stockholm (1895-98) and at the Royal College of Art (1900-05) and abroad in Paris and Italy. He was known for his portraits and landscapes and his work is represented in the National Museum and Gothenburg Museum of Art.
