This antique Chinese Altar Table is handcrafted with Zelkova Wood. Traditional Chinese "Scrolls and Ganoderma" design is ornately carved on the front and the back of the table. The side panels of the table are nicely carved of the same design motif. The carvings on the side panels are double-sided. The wood plank used for the surface is a single plank of wood with almost two inches of thickness. The carvings of the table are detailed with outlines and highlighted with a gold touch. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. This is a very elegant table with a lot of details. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear. The table is very solid and kept in excellent condition.
