A very rare vase with a motif of Swedish vikings in a viking boat sailing on a deep blue ocean. The vase is made of rough chamotte clay and glazed on the inside. The motif is also glazed. Vintage midcentury from Tilgmans 1970s.
Tilgman's Ceramics was a ceramics workshop outside Gothenburg, operating around 1948–1975 under the direction of its founder Paul Harald Tilgmann (1904–1974). Tilgman's ceramics are mainly known for objects decorated with the so-called sgraffito technique, as well as for animal figures. This piece has an attribution mark,
