''Writer, publisher and artist, Fleur's book is part memoir, part biography and part art book, showcasing her; magical, oft mystical paintings. Also, in the book, her recounting of the artists who most inspired her - and recollections of visits with some of the most famous, including Braque, Lucien Freud, Picasso, Dali and more. The 128-page hardcover/jacket is signed by Cowles in inscription, dated 1989, on the first free end paper. Included in the book are 48 of her paintings, in brilliant color plates. Fleur Cowles also wrote and illustrated two books, but best-known as the creator of the deluxe magazine, FLAIR. It lasted from 1950-51, when it became too expensive to print. Today, rare copies of Flair are highly sought-afterr and sell for hundreds of dollars each. The book is in unread condition - clean, bright unmarked..The jacket is very good vintage, with just two small tears to the upper right above her name. .Also, sunned along the right edge. This is a great book for artists, art-collectors, fans of FLAIR and Fleur Cowles, and those seeking inspiration from her, as she souught inspiration from others.
