Duncan Phyfe Mahogany China Cabinet
Currently wrapped in paper, cardboard, blankets, and stretch plastic film in a climate-controlled storage unit. Write to me if you are interested and perhaps we can conclude a transaction.

• China cabinet 73" x 14 5/8" x 45 5/8" (excellent condition)
• original finish
• locking door with key
• no broken glass
This piece is in amazing condition. You will not be disappointed in any aspect of it. It has been in my family since 1952. It is NOT curbside, garage sale, flea market, or junktique-store-level furniture. The buyer will be proud to own it. There are only two flaws, both of which are insignificant:
1) a piece of cornice molding that has been repaired that measures about 1" x 1". It is at the top on the rear on the right side, and I never noticed it until it was time to move this piece (wrapping with paper and then padding) when I sold my house, and I have been familiar with this furniture all of my life. I doubt you would ever have detected it if I hadn't mentioned it.
2) The lower door also binds slightly but will close all the way. You could either leave it as it is as we have done for decades, lubricate it with paraffin wax, or plane the door edge a tiny bit.
This was built in an era when veneer was almost 1/8" thick. In a way, I am very reluctant to see it go, especially since it has been in our family for so long..

It has always been like this since my earliest childhood memories. Think of it as a light friction fit that holds the door in place. It really doesn't prevent proper functioning, and in my opinion, nothing needs to be done about it. I mention it in an effort to fully disclose everything I know about this piece. Since the piece is in storage, I don't have access to it right now. I know other pieces in the dining room suite that this was a part of had some varnish that was crazing. This piece may have some tell-tale signs of crazing, but lacks deep gouges or scratches. Once again, nothing needs to be done to it. It does not need restoration or refinishing in my opinion, and I would not pursue those either as a new buyer or continuing in ownership. less
