William Grauer, born in Philadelphia, was a painter, muralist, and art teacher in Cleveland for 60 years. In 1934 he and his wife founded the Old White Art Colony, School, and Gallery in White Sulphur Springs. In later years, his work became increasingly abstract.
This watercolor is in very good original condition. There is a small approximately 1/4 inch vertical tear at the right hinge. There is paper tape residue along the back margins. Matted with an acid-free rag mat for protection.
